Founded in Toronto Ontario, in 1955 two banks named the Bank of Toronto and the Dominion Bank merged to form what is now known as the Toronto Dominion Bank. As the years gone by, there was another merge in the year 2000 with another institution known as Canada Trust. Today, it operates under the brand TD Canada Trust and is also one of the larger banks in Canada.
